Position Summary

A Business Development Senior Associate at Dubin Clark focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and driving new deal opportunities within the lower-middle-market, supporting the firm's investment focus on founder- and family- owned businesses across branded niche manufacturing, residential home services, and event services sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source and screen new investment opportunities across targeted industries, leveraging research, networking, and outreach strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships with business owners, company executives, investment bankers, and other deal intermediaries.
  • Evaluate potential investments, support initial deal analyses, and prepare materials for investment committee meetings.
  • Maintain and update the firm’s pipeline and CRM system, coordinating with the team on follow-up processes and communications.
  • Support platform and add-on acquisition activity by monitoring market trends and participating in industry events relevant to Dubin Clark’s focus sectors.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s Executive Partnership Program to identify operator talent and foster introductions between management teams and portfolio companies.
  • Work with partners and senior team members to refine outreach messaging and represent Dubin Clark in external meetings and conferences. Monitor portfolio financial performance and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.


Qualifications

  • 2–5 years’ experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, or a related B2B origination/business development role; experience within lower-middle-market preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with a proven ability to build executive-level relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator with the capacity to support investor and management outreach initiatives.
  • Self-starter mindset, comfortable with independent research/outreach, balanced with team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet demanding deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strong ethics and values, evidenced by discretion, integrity, and professional conduct in all interactions.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are required for internal analysis, reporting, and communications.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment background, credit, criminal, and drug screening protocols
  • Willingness and flexibility to work long hours as needed and to travel for conferences, management meetings, and site visits.
  • Residency in or demonstrated professional/personal ties to the Northeast Florida region, preferably in proximity to the Jacksonville Beach, FL headquarters.
