Job Description:


Centerfield is seeking a business development professional to support the partnership and Centerfield’s investment team in maintaining and expanding the firm’s extensive network of relationships and sources of deal flow across the country. The role is instrumental to our investment strategy and is an excellent opportunity for a professional seeking a long‐term career in the private equity industry. The individual must have deep relationship development skills and the ability to successfully support ambitious marketing initiatives nationally.


Key Responsibilities:


    • Represent the Centerfield brand externally and clearly communicate our strategy, investment interests, and approach to value‐creation via phone calls, in‐person meetings, and conference interactions
    • Identify and call on potential sources of deal flow, including investment banks, brokers, private equity firms, business owners, management teams, and other intermediaries
    • Travel nationally to execute the business development plan (substantial overnight travel required, typically one to two nights per week, two to three weeks per month)
    • Source new investment opportunities and assure top‐of‐mind status with Centerfield’s core sources of deal flow
    • Screen new investment opportunities and act as a liaison between intermediaries and Centerfield’s execution team
    • Manage Centerfield’s CRM software, including logging new opportunities and interactions, and generating internal reports to measure performance
    • Review, negotiate, and execute confidentiality and non‐disclosure agreements
    • Develop and maintain firm marketing materials, including press releases, presentations, and the firm’s website and LinkedIn presence
    • Manage travel and networking expenses within budget


Key Qualifications:


    • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in business, finance, or a related field)
    • 2‐8 years of experience in commercial or investment banking, business development, corporate development, finance, accounting and/or private equity with a demonstrated interest in relationship/brand development (financial services experience preferred)
    • Highly motivated self‐starter who can collaborate effectively in a small team environment
    • Poised and articulate with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to multi‐task and meet deadlines
    • Highly organized and attentive to details
    • Excellent writing and analytical skills
    • Proficient in the use of LinkedIn, marketing software, and CRM systems
    • Comfortable with extensive travel


Overall compensation commensurate with experience with incentive opportunities based upon individual success and overall firm performance.
