Position Overview
IMB Partners is seeking an Associate to join our lean, high-impact investment team. You’ll play a critical role across the full deal lifecycle—including origination, diligence, execution, and portfolio value creation—while using advanced AI tools to improve efficiency and insights.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Execution & Diligence -
- Use AI/ML tools to streamline research, automate first-draft models and presentations, and compress timelines
- Build and refine financial models with limited oversight
- Lead industry research and diligence processes on potential investments
- Prepare IC-ready materials aligned with firm strategy
Portfolio Monitoring -
- Partner with firm leadership to monitor and analyze financial, operational, and strategic performance
- Summarize and synthesize key metrics and insights using AI tooling
Deal Sourcing & Relationship Management -
- Support relationship development with bankers, brokers, and advisors
- Coordinate and lead introductory calls and meetings to expand pipeline
- Support fundraising and investor relations activities
- Leverage AI to capture thorough notes and synthesize, summarize, and share key highlights and insights with leadership
Required Experience
- At least two years of related work experience in investment banking
- Relevant undergraduate degree
- Excellent financial modeling, Excel, and quantitative skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and expertise with PowerPoint
- Demonstrated commitment to IMB’s core values, especially An Entrepreneurial Approach
- Entrepreneurial track record is a plus – evidence of independently investing in or launching a venture (e.g., angel deal, search fund, start-up)
- Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Demonstrated success applying Gen-AI/analytics (e.g., ChatGPT, Python, low-/no-code platforms) to improve sourcing, diligence, or portfolio performance
- Fluency in interrogating AI output and translating insights for senior stakeholders, with a commitment to continuous upskilling in emerging tech.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and new challenges
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

Compensation
IMB strives to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent, including base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $125,000 and $140,000. Bonuses are a meaningful proportion of the total pay package and may range from $40,000 – $60,000 based on company and individual performance.
