Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC has announced they partnered with 40 farms as part of our Farm Fresh Nourish program. This past season ended in November 2024 and provided over 600,000 pounds of fresh produce for families. This program also provided educational opportunities to support individuals managing food-related health challenges. One such partner, Springhouse Farm, a women-owned operation in the Appalachian Mountains, faced significant losses after Hurricane Helene. To ensure their continued operations and partnership with Farm Fresh Nourish, Second Harvest invested more than $38,000 in a water filtration system and stream bank restoration.
